Drafter/Detailer
The Drafter/Detailer is responsible for the preparation of design documents and drawings during the execution of construction projects. This position will produce architectural drawings including plans, sections, and details along with bills of material.
Responsibilities
- Uses Computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create full-scale and detailed designs from an architect’s rough drawings.
- Analyses building codes and regulations to determine how they will affect architectural designs.
- Draws and details plans based on instructions provided by engineers and architects.
- Occasionally visit job sites to gather data and measurements needed to complete designs.
- Determines the types of materials needed for the project and calculates the quantity to be ordered.
- Assures work completed is accurate and within project deadlines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient with AutoCAD required
- Knowledge of Bluebeam or similar
- Efficient verbal and written communication skills
- Efficient interpersonal and customer service skills
- Efficient organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Efficient time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- AutoCAD 1 year (Preferred)
- Architectural Detailing 1 year (Preferred)
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Design Drafting
- Engineering or related field,
- At least two years of AutoCAD experience required
- At least two years related experience required
Benefits/Compensation
- Pay rate is $18-$26 per hour
