Position:

We are seeking an energized, positive thinker to conduct comprehensive vocational evaluations, work samples, situational assessments, and job-site evaluations. This is a flexible position with competitive pay and growth potential. The Vocational Evaluator's goal is to evaluate a client’s capabilities in order to empower her or him with an informed choice for their career or academic success.

The position includes training to conduct these evaluations, but a candidate MUST meet the education requirements and have at least 1 year of experience working with adults or youth in a vocational rehabilitation counseling capacity, including but not limited to job coaching, job placement, supported employment, pre-placement training, or career counseling and coaching to individuals with various conditions and abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with individuals with disabilities to develop vocational recommendations
  • Conducts multiple tests, assessments, and interest inventories to determine an individual’s optimal functioning
  • Caseload varies from one client to three clients per week
  • Evaluates a client’s ability to work in a particular field or academic potential
  • Works with diverse clients in a variety of settings
  • Ensures evaluations and notes are completed within three-days of evaluation
  • Uses a database to enter intake notes, progress notes, reports, and client updates
  • Conducts vocational research, job analyses, labor market surveys, and transferable skills analyses
  • Reviews vocational, medical, and psychological records
  • Analyzes data and writes comprehensive reports detailing evaluation results and recommendations

  • Proficient computer competencies with the ability to use Microsoft Office and electronic documentation databases
  • Able to administer and score psychometric instruments and work samples

Experience and Educational Requirements:

Candidate must meet one of these requirements:

1. Current certification related to vocational evaluation: PVE, CVE, ABVE/D, ABVE/F, IPEC OR

2. Vocational Evaluator Certificate from a national accredited college or university.OR

3. Master’s degree in vocational evaluation OR

4. Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling/rehabilitation services, social work (clinical), mental health counseling, clinical psychology, and one year of full-time experience using vocational rehabilitation counseling techniques OR

5. Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling/Rehabilitation Services, Social Work (Clinical), Human Services, Counseling (clinical), Mental Health Counseling, or Clinical Psychology and one year of full-time experience using vocational rehabilitation counseling techniques.

Required:

  • Must be able to pass a level 2 background check
  • Valid driver’s license and car insurance coverage
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Comfortable with traveling throughout the greater Central Florida/Daytona/Orlando area and remote working-at-home
  • Experience working with adolescents and adults who have a disability
  • Experience in providing rehabilitation counseling and vocational services to help individuals with disabilities obtain and maintain competitive employment, such as in vocational evaluation, job placement, employment services, transition/youth services, pre-placement training, job coaching, or supported employment roles is preferred
  • Quiet workspace with reliable internet access and a telephone for remote appointments
  • Bilingual is a plus
