Senior Human Resources Business Partner

Location- Bethesda, MD

Position Description:

Lead and drive our human resource initiatives in alignment with business goals. This role is a foundational member of the HR department and assumes a strategic leadership position. As a member of a small, growing team, this role demands a high-level perspective while being prepared and committed to diving deep into the trenches to ensure our team's success and growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with department and project heads to understand and address current and future organizational needs.
  • Offer actionable insights derived from a deep understanding of the project needs, market dynamics, competitors, and customer expectations.
  • Continuously monitor workplace and workforce trends, patterns, and sentiments to anticipate needs and inform decision-making.
  • Supplement formal engagement surveys and pulse checks with insights gathered from everyday interactions and observations.
  • Act as a coach to department and project heads, providing guidance on talent management, team effectiveness, and people management skills.
  • Facilitate programs aimed at fostering growth mindsets, building resilience, creating inclusive cultures, and enhancing management and leadership acumen.
  • Detect opportunities that can be transformed into strategic initiatives.
  • Frame organizational challenges as business problems, leveraging data to underscore urgency and inform solutions.
  • Lead and facilitate impactful workforce programs.
  • Ensure agile planning, clear deliverables, and a culture of team accountability.
  • Anticipate potential challenges and provide proactive solutions.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships across the organization, characterized by mutual respect and a shared commitment to business objectives.
  • Demonstrate high emotional intelligence in all interactions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 experience as an HRBP or in a similar strategic HR role.
  • Experience in Learning and Development methodologies is a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices, business operations, and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to think critically, analytically, and anticipate organizational needs.
  • Exceptional relationship management and emotional intelligence skills.
  • Proficient in leveraging data analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Deep expertise in talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, and organizational health.
  • Must possess deep expertise in HR practices, a profound desire to gain an understanding of business operations, and an intrinsic knowledge of market dynamics.
  • Adept at navigating the evolving landscape of modern work challenges and instrumental in the organization's journey from responding to challenges, through recovery, to ultimately thriving in the 'new normal'.
