We’re looking for certified home health aides and personal care assistants in various locations in NYC to be at the heart of our client’s care. As a home health aide with VNS Health you will provide exceptional care that our clients rely on to stay safe at home.

Duties:

• Ambulation and transfer activities.
• Ostomy care.
• Assists clients with medical equipment, supplies, and devices as prescribed.
• Assists with self-administered medication.
• Simple skincare.
• Takes and record pulse, temperature, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Performs light housekeeping activities (tidying, shopping, laundry).
• Observes, reports, and records changes in the client's condition and environment.
• Adheres to accepted infection control practices.
• Assists with nutritional and fluid intake needs, including preparation of meals.
• Ensures client's rights and confidentiality are maintained.
• Bathing, change of bed linen, toileting, dressing, feeding, shampooing, shaving, mouth care, nail care, and prescribed skin care.

Qualifications:

• Certified Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Home Health Aide (HHA)
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
• Ability to cook simple meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
• Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency
• Sixth (6) grade reading comprehension level.
• Writing and math skill level to the extent necessary for the successful and safe performance of required job functions.
• Must be at least 18 years old

Physical Requirements

• Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting adult clients.
• Standing and walking for extensive periods, as well as bending and climbing stairs. • Commonly lifts, carries, and maneuvers items weighing more than 50 lbs.

Pay: $19.15 - $22.00 per hour
