This position is eligible for $2,500.00 sign on bonus.

Job Summary:

The Providence Center Clinical Therapist Head Start offers mental health support at various levels in the HS system allowing for seamless integration of social and emotional support to the children, families, HS staff, and community.

In this role, the Clinical Therapist Head Start will provide a full array of services which will include, but not limited to; Kids Connect services, participating in case reviews, supporting family workers, assisting staff in facilitating feeling groups, developing sensory spaces and feeling centers in the classrooms, crisis intervention, parent education and consultation, staff training, classroom observations, and linking children and families to higher level of services.

Additionally, our goal is that the Clinical Therapist Head Start, like the rest of the Head Start staff, will be an integrated team member that can offer support and expertise in their area. To support this vision, the Mental Health Partner will integrate into the daily functions of the HS program.

This contract period covers 8/30/23 – 6/25/24.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide 37.5 hours of non-billable MH support, Kids Connect services, and partnering per week to HS and childcare classrooms. Caseload shall not exceed 15 classrooms in 5 separate sites – inclusive of the Kids Connect needs at each site.

Services are to be provided by an independently licensed masters’ level clinician with experience in early childhood mental health.

Obtain and make available to Children’s Friend verification of clinician’s educational credentials, BCI, CANTS, and fingerprint background checks.

Service is to be provided in a HS center or home of the family.

Provide written documentation explaining the non-billable activities provided, to be submitted on a monthly basis to the Children’s Friend Supervisor of Mental Health & Disabilities.

The identified team is committed to providing a seamless experience for children and families and will participate in building an effective prenatal through age five.

Know and comply with HS Performance Standards and Regulations.

Non-billable services will include, but are not limited to:

Partner with the Child and Family Development Managers and Supervisors to strategize clinical needs of the community.

Partner with the Child and Family Development Managers and Supervisors to develop social/emotional tips for the parent newsletter on a monthly basis.

Provide classroom support and consultation regarding social and emotional issues.

Provide Kids Connect services in their totality.

Participate in interdisciplinary meetings (Kids Team, family reviews, etc.) and committees to support the individual needs of children/families and the overall HS program.

Respond to emergent clinical emergencies in the centers.

Provide non-billable home and community visits.

Develop child specific crisis plans.

Provide support regarding community referrals (FCCP, school departments, etc.).

Attend weekly Mental Health Team Meetings facilitated by Children’s Friend.

Attend weekly supervision with the Mental Health and Disabilities Supervisor.

Participate in program evaluations.

Cooperate in site reviews and monitoring visits.

Complete all program paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.

Provide clinical supervision to interns and clinicians seeking independent licensure.

Children’s Friend will:

Present the Mental Health Partner to policy council for approval to provide services in the program.

Assign an individual as a liaison between the Partner and Children’s Friend. This individual will provide support and oversight of the mental health services in the centers, provide consultation, and ensure that all HS regulations are being met.

Provide agency workspace, computer access, an agency phone extension, and an identification badge.

Provide training and guidance on HS standards and regulations.

Provide assessment tools and related training.

Requirements:

Master's degree in Human Services or related field and relevant clinical experience with preschool, preschool students, and their families.

CAGS, LCSW, and/or LMHC-A preferred.

Insured auto and valid driver's license.
