Care First Group Living is Hiring a Nursing Assistant Near Troy, MI

Care First Rehabilitation, a company that cares for clients with Traumatic Brain Injuries, is looking for reliable, caring, professional individuals to join our growing team. We are looking for candidates who want to grow with our company. Staff perform routine patient care duties (full care) under the supervision of Supervisors and nurses.

Setting/Facility

  • Group home setting; 5 in Troy and 1 in Farmington (must be able to work in both cities/ALL locations)
  • If you’re working the day shift, you will be involved in our Day Program that the clients attend Monday-Friday from 9:00am-4:00pm. The clients have various therapies, catered lunch, activities, and outings each day during our program.

Pay

  • $16/hour, to start, if not CNA certified
  • $17/hour, to start, if CNA certified
  • $18/ hour after 90 days of employment (must pass additional trainings and requirements)
  • $1,000 quarterly attendance incentive program ($4,000/year)
  • $150 stipend for successful employee referrals
  • Annual performance review where you’re subject to a raise
  • Additional room for growth; A Supervisor position that you could be eligible for after 6 months of employment.

Schedule

  • Choose your 12 hour shift (7:00-7:30)

  • Lunches and dinners are catered, by our chef, for the clients, Mon-Fri
  • Entire team of nurses, behavior therapists, and other therapists (SLP, OT, PT, CTRS, etc) who provide additional support to our clients and staff on a daily basis
  • You pick what holidays you work for time and half
  • Any hours over 40 hours per week is time and a half
  • Offer ALL benefits after 90 days; 401K with a match, health insurance, dental, vision, and we have employer paid life insurance. Annual PTO is 10 days (80 hours)
  • Daily opportunities to take clients into the community when working the day shift

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing full care to clients in a manner that considers safety, clients’ rights, comfort and a therapeutic environment.
  • Assisting clients with daily activities (ADLs): light meal preparation, feeding, bathing/hygiene, toileting, etc.
  • Keeping the AFC homes clean and sanitized (deep cleaning)
  • Supervising and engaging with clients during community outings such as recreational events and doctor appointments.
  • Demonstrating compassion and patience for all clients on a daily basis

Expectations:

  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts
  • Must be able to rotate weekends
  • Have a professional, calm, respectful demeanor/attitude
  • Be flexible - the house you’re scheduled at is subject to change, even if you picked up an open shift.
  • Dress Code: Solid color scrubs, closed toe shoes, no headwear
  • Must pass a background check within 30 days of hire (free of charge)
  • Must have a negative TB test on file (free of charge)
  • Must get a physical exam; Medical Clearance on file
  • No sleeping during either shift
  • Zero tolerance for drug/alcohol use
  • Be able to attend a one-day orientation (Monday) from 9:00am-4:00pm
  • Must have good attendance; Only allowed 3 attendance violations per quarter (tardies, leave early requests, and unexcused absences)
  • Demonstrate patience and compassion with our clients
  • Attend all zoom huddles during shift
  • Little to no phone usage that is not work related.
  • Not able to leave for your break

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
