Position Summary:The Legal Coordinator provides a variety of administrative and support functions within the Legal Business Unit. In this role, you will provide administrative support to the Legal team, including preparing and proofreading legal documents, preparing departmental reporting, organizing and maintaining files, meeting and travel scheduling and expense processing. In addition, this role will also support ongoing projects within the Legal Department including providing assistance to the department paralegal and lawyer teams with their ongoing work. Interacts with colleagues and leadership in a professional and courteous manner while ensuring that deadlines are metGathers documentation and prepares responses to subpoenasAssists paralegal team with monitoring of various workflows including consumer complaint response reviews and routing registered agent filingsAssists with the investigation of lawsuitsAssists in the maintenance of policies and procedures Planning and running of internal departmental eventsCoordinate monthly departmental reports as necessary including tracking of litigation expensesProcesses invoices for payment, tracks payment status, and follows up with Finance Business Unit and vendorsFormats correspondence, reports, forms and memos, and proofreads for accuracyArranges business travel for the Legal teamFiles, organizes, scans and copies documents in a timely mannerEnsures availability of adequate office supplies Interfaces with technology personnel on behalf of the Legal teamOrganizes meetings and reserves conference rooms Facilitates mailings with support department when neededPerforms general office duties to support the overall function of the Legal Business Unit Performs other duties as assigned Education and Experience:Associate’s degree or other related degree is preferredFive (5) years of administrative experience preferredPrior exposure to legal work or experience supporting a legal department or law firm work is a plusPrior exposure to a financial services related business a plus Summary of Qualifications: Self-starter who seeks out learning and information to perform the workAble to work independently and as a cooperative member of the teamAbility to follow instructions and confident in seeking clarification or guidance as necessaryMaintains confidentiality and uses discretion with respect to sensitive informationFamiliarity with legal documents and terminology a plusStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and MS365 including TeamsAble to effectively prioritize and meet deadlinesExcellent organizational skills with close attention to detailDemonstrates a courteous and professional demeanorStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to effectively and professionally work with different leveled roles Work Environment/Physical Demands: Work is in an office environment, sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time; works with computer equipment for prolonged periods of time.
