Our work environment includes:

DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES:

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography and vascular testing as requested, for interpretation by or at the request of the physician.
• Coordinates appointment scheduling for the Echo lab, keeping in mind patient flow, examination time, and physician/staff availability.
• Maintains patient charts to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical assessment, diagnostic work up and treatment.
• Provides appropriate patient care, and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Recognizes significant adverse reactions and acts appropriately.
• Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy.
• Ensures presence of or obtains patient history, answers patient questions and explains procedures. Prepares patient for procedure, providing instruction to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize risk.
• Assists in the care and maintenance of equipment and ensures and adequate stock of standard and emergency supplies are available.
• Maintains the confidentiality of all patient records and information, according to current policy and procedure at all times.
• Attends and participates in educational, in-service and staff meetings.
• Communicates clearly and tactfully with customers and co-workers, maintaining a harmonious relationship, and providing support and assistance as needed. Functions as a team member at all times. Communicates with other levels of management on a regular basis for planning and coordination.
• Responds promptly to changes in workload, adjusting assignments as necessary to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency. Completes job duties within required time frame, according to established schedules or workflow requirements.
• Demonstrates flexibility in working hours and days scheduled in order to meet the needs of the practice. Reports to work on time, following appropriate procedure for planning and arranging schedule changes as well as holidays and vacations.
• Demonstrates attitude of cooperation and professionalism at all times.
• Demonstrates competency and knowledge of safety procedures in utilizing equipment, including technical, computer, office equipment, etc., and repots/corrects problems noted.
• Communicates in a professional fashion either by phone or in person, in a manner appropriate for the intended audience.
• Supports and follows established facility Policies and Procedures, objectives, protocols, and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: A.S. Cardiopulmonary Technology.

Preferred Experience: Previous experience in diagnostic Echocardiography.

Required Licensure/Certification: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, CPR.

Skills/Administrative: Input data into computer programs, maintains logs, maintains patient records.

Skills/Machines: Echocardiographic Equipment, Computer, Computer peripheral equipment, Fax, Copy Machine, typewriter.

Physical Demands: Mostly sedentary work, occasional standing/walking, manual dexterity and mobility, occasionally lifts supplies/equipment.

Working Conditions: Contact with patients under a variety of circumstances, subject to varying and unpredictable situations, may be exposed to infections and contagious diseases, subject to many interruptions, occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquires.

Supervisory Relationship: Reports to physician and Administrator.

Work Schedule: Workweek to include Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm with ½ hour lunch break. May require to work overtime depending upon patient volume.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
