Cardinal is Hiring a CNC Machinist Near Spring, WI

At Cardinal Automation Group (AG), we make custom automation equipment for Cardinal Glass facilities located throughout the US. In addition to a competitive wage and monthly profit sharing, we offer an immaculate, climate-controlled work environment and a friendly atmosphere. CNC Machinists set up, edit and run a variety of CNC machines including: 3-axis milling machines, turning center, wire EDM, multi-axis lathe and Waterjet.

Position Schedule options include:

Five 8-hour (7am - 3pm) days/week OR four 10-hour (5am - 3pm) days/week.

Essential Functions:

  • Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools (such as lathes and mills) to perform machining operations per specifications.
  • Read prints for specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
  • Set up work holding fixtures and cutting tools.
  • Lay out, measure, and mark material to be cut.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Edit programs for minor adjustments and consult supervisor or programmer to assist with problems.
  • Observe and listen to operating machines to diagnose potential issues and determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Position and fasten workpieces.
  • Measure and examine completed parts to ensure they meet specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance such as checking coolant and oil, cleaning, and lubricating machines.
  • Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers.

Other

  • Position requires regular, in-person attendance.
  • Ability to work with and as part of a team including but not limited to the Plant Manager, managers, employees throughout Cardinal, and vendors.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement in decision making, ideas, and all aspects relating to the Cardinal team and other company relationships.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct, always exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor.
  • Meet weekly production standards set by Cardinal AG management.

  • Train others to help them gain knowledge in your strength areas as needed.
  • Cooperatively work as a member of a team.
  • Meet weekly production standards set by Cardinal AG management.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Technical degree in machining or equivalent related work experience
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
  • The trait of being dependable and trustworthy
  • Possess the trait of being organized or have the ability to follow a systematic method of performing a task

Environmental Conditions:

This position exists in an indoor manufacturing facility. The work environment exposes employees to flying objects, such as chips, and various chemicals. Accident hazards can involve severe cuts and bruises.
