Cardinal Ritter Senior Services is Hiring a Memory Care Director- Mother of Perpetual Help Near St. Louis, MO

Cardinal Ritter Senior Services (CRSS), one of South County's largest independent, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation nonprofit senior living communities, seeks an experienced Memory Care Director to join our growing team.

You must be a licensed Assisted Living Administrator (RCAL) in order to be considered for this role.

This position meets resident needs by coordinating the overall social operations of the Memory Care Communities. The Memory Care Director develops, organizes and implements balanced memory care, dementia related activities program that enhances the lives of residents. This individual would act as liaison to families, community agencies and others directly involved with resident care. This is an exempt position with supervisory responsibilities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Employs therapeutic and recreational techniques to facilitate internal and external community relations. Counsels and cares for residents, assisting them to identify and resolve problems and make effective use of resources.
  • Works closely with resident care staff to provide specific memory care training. Utilizing the Teepa Snow methodology and Alzheimer Association practices.
  • Coordinates with other staff such as dining services, life enrichment, and wellness to implement programs and life enhancement activities tailored for residents in all stages of dementia.
  • Organizes and conducts support groups for residents, including a Mass twice a year where all the names of the residents and groups for seniors experiencing depression.
  • Provides services to family members including individual counseling and group work such as support groups, grievance counseling, caregiver groups, and respite care, the aging process and how it affects their health and life styles.
  • Facilitates working relationships with staff of other agencies and institutions, and acts as liaison between residents and ministry staff.
  • Assists residents in finding ways of adjusting to aging changes that will allow for a life style as comfortable as the situation will permit.
  • Prepares and maintains appropriate records in the EHR with wellness department including, reports, and forms, performs case follow-up and
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Supervises employees in the Memory Care Communities.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these communities.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the ministries' policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to demonstrate ministries competencies and values.
  • A minimum of five year's related experience senior care especially memory care.
  • Prior knowledge and specific education related to Alzheimer's and Dementia/Brain Change.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and read simple sentences in English.
  • Ability to perform simple math calculations.
  • Must be willing to become a Positive Approach to Care (PAC), Trainer and Coach.
  • Demonstrated ability to use reason and sound judgment.
  • Must be a licensed Assisted Living Administrator (RCAL).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

SKILLS & ATTITUDES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN JOB

  • Must be tactful, courteous, and patient in dealing with staff, residents, and public contact.
  • Must be in good physical and emotional health
  • Be flexible to a working schedule that adapts to the needs of all shifts.
  • Must possess communication skills adequate to direct contact with employees, physicians, vendors, residents, families and visitors, must be able to assess and accurately service the needs of these persons by referring them to the delegated authority. Must be able to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Must possess independent judgement and evaluate consequence of errors. Must be able to function independently within the confines of the position.
  • Must be able to set priorities within own work requirements.

Pre-Employment Screening

All candidates receiving an offer for employment will be required to submit to pre-employment screening. The screenings will include criminal background check and other background checks (as needed), drug screen, an employment and education or licensure/certification verification, and Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination. Various positions will require physical examination, Tuberculosis screening and Hepatitis A. All offers are contingent upon successful completion of required screening.
