Description

As a Government Contractor Business Analyst with a focus on government accounting and project control at CPC, you will be responsible for overseeing financial aspects of government contracts and ensuring project profitability and compliance. Your role will involve utilizing your expertise in finance or accounting, along with project management skills, to support various projects and initiatives. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of government contracting regulations, cost accounting principles, and proficiency in utilizing ERP systems commonly used in government contracting environments.

Responsibilities:

· Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring project costs and revenue.

· Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets.

· Implement project control processes to track project performance and identify areas for improvement.

· Provide financial analysis and reporting for government contracts, including variance analysis and profitability assessments.

· Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) standards in project financial management.

· Perform cost accounting activities, such as cost allocation, overhead calculations, and indirect rate development, to support project budgeting and reporting.

· Utilize government contracting ERPs such as JAMIS, Unanet, or Deltek to maintain accurate project financial records and support decision-making.

· Researches and resolves issues encountered by system users.

· Project billing and revenue recognition

· Monthly balance sheet reconciliation

· Work closely with project teams to address financial risks and implement mitigation strategies. 

· Participate in project reviews and audits conducted by government agencies or external auditors.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, PMP) preferred.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in government contracting finance or accounting roles.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret project financial data and make strategic recommendations.

· Proficiency in project management principles and practices, including project planning, scheduling, and risk management.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, queries/macros, pivot tables, etc.)

· In-depth knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and experience with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) compliance in project financial management.

· Hands-on experience with government contracting ERPs such as JAMIS, Unanet, or Deltek.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.

· Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priority deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- CPA, PMP, or other relevant certifications.

The wage range for this position is $72,000 - $82,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience. Cardinal Point Captains offers comprehensive benefits which may include health insurance, retirement plan benefits, paid time off, performance bonuses and access to other benefit programs. Eligibility for benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable corporate office plan at a person’s date of hire.
