What Production Operation contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.
Operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment. May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines.
Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. Some machines may be numerically controlled.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Responsibilities
The Process Inspector conducts quality checks on the produced product to ensure there are no visible defects
Documents applicable information regarding product quality and machine performance
Visually inspects in-process / finished material while operating inform designated teammates of any machine malfunction or defective product
Maintains documentation, production information, cleaning documentation, and safety check documentation in the company system
Starts machines, observes for correct operation, adjusts, and starts general troubleshooting as needed
Moves empty and full bags / totes / boxes to and from the machine, add labels / weigh product / verify count / add to box / insert into shipper as needed, and stack onto pallet
Practices department’s medical manufacturing and housekeeping procedures and complete cleaning verification checklists as required
Assembles goods on production line
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, preferred
1-3 years related work experience and / or training, preferred
What is expected of you and others at this level
Readily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned area
Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications
Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution
Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and / or scientific methods
Adheres to all quality guidelines
Works under moderate degree of supervision
Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor
Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor
