Purchasing Specialist - General Cardiology

Cardiac Study Center/ Pulse Heart Institute, Tacoma WA

The Company

Since its creation, Cardiac Study Center (CSC) has contracted with Pulse Heart Institute for outpatient cardiology and billing services. CSC is a proud partner of Pulse, and has provided outpatient cardiology services in the Puget Sound Region for over 50 years. CSC partnered with MultiCare Health System to create Pulse Heart Institute in 2016 to work toward improving the health of cardiac patients.

Pulse offers a variety of career opportunities throughout our clinic locations. If you’re interested, we may have positions open in our other sub-specialties (Heart Failure, Vascular, Electrophysiology & Device, or Nuclear Imaging)

Environment and Shift details:

This role is full-time, 40 hours/ week, 8-hour Monday – Friday—closed weekends and holidays.

Location: 1901 South Cedar Street, Tacoma WA, 98406

Purchasing Specialist Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of related purchasing experience and/or training, preferably in a medical practice

• 1 year of experience in the healthcare industry - preferably in a billing role.

The Purchasing Specialist is pivotal in managing and optimizing the procurement processes within the organization, focusing on securing high-quality goods and services at cost-effective prices. This role encompasses the full cycle of purchasing activities including analyzing purchase requisitions, conducting supplier evaluations, and maintaining robust vendor relationships. Responsibilities extend to ensuring compliance with organizational purchasing policies, negotiating contracts, and strategizing to resolve supply chain issues effectively. Purchasing Specialist Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic purchasing plans to optimize cost and quality.

• Analyze purchase requisitions, ensure compliance with company policies, and process purchase orders.

• Conduct thorough supplier assessments and manage vendor risk evaluations.

• Collaborate with internal teams to clarify product specifications and resolve purchasing issues.

• Manage the bidding process, analyze bids, negotiate contracts, and select vendors based on a combination of factors including quality, cost, and reliability.

• Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and conduct regular audits to ensure service standards.

• Educate and support internal departments and vendors on purchasing processes.

• Organize timely deliveries of supplies to meet internal needs.

• Communicate effectively with various organizational levels and external partners.

• Safeguard confidential information, including HIPAA and proprietary company data.

• Adapt work schedule as necessary to meet deadlines and operational demands, including occasional weekend and evening hours.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

Cardiac Study Center/ Pulse Heart Institute provides a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. As various pay transparency laws require, CSC/ PHI shares a competitive compensation range for candidates hired into each position. The starting pay for this position is $31.01 and the pay scale is $31.01 - $46.13. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
