Carbondale Highway Credit Union is Hiring a Credit Union Manager Near Carbondale, IL

Responsible for efficient, effective supervision of a full-service Credit Union office, ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed and delegating some of the day-to-day operations to the Member Service Representative. Responsible for managing the overall operations to include member service, product sales, new member growth, business development activities, employee development, and facility management. Available to make business decisions and represent the Credit Union at various functions. Capable of implementing policies and decisions of the Board of Directors and to originate/implement plans and procedures affecting the success of such policies and decisions.

Examples of Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as President of Carbondale Highway Credit Union (CHCU).
  • Serves as a Loan Officer by signing notes, drafts and order for distribution of CHCU funds (with the approval of the Credit Committee).
  • Serves as the Delinquent Loan Officer/Collections Officer.
  • Prepares monthly financial statements showing the condition of the CHCU, including a summary of delinquent loans.
  • Maintains records of the assets and liabilities of the CHCU.
  • Recommends to the Board problem loans for charge-off and process approved charge-offs accordingly.
  • Attends all Board meetings and report to the Directors on all pertinent situations affecting the Credit Union.
  • Maintains both public and Credit Union relations with the organized credit union movement.
  • Submits to appropriate government officials and agencies all information required by law or requested from the Board.
  • Manages staff and operations including work schedules, duties, employee evaluations and training.
  • Other duties as assigned by Board.

Personnel Management

  • Manage the staff and operations of the credit union.
  • Hold periodic staff meetings to discuss areas needing improvement, changes in procedures, new developments or services and to present general information.
  • Responsible for maintaining a competent staff.
  • Coordinate and direct work schedules and duties of all employees.
  • Maintain Credit Union employee evaluations.
  • Determine and implement training programs for staff and to advise and assist staff in the fulfillment of their respective functions.
  • Handle in-person business, telephone inquiries and all problem situations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Board.
  • Achieves assigned goals and performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.)

  • Education/Certification: preferred Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or a related business field or five (5) years experience in the industry
  • Experience: A minimum three to five years management experience in a credit union or banking environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Past supervisory experience.
  • A thorough knowledge of bank and/or credit union operations to coordinate the daily functioning of the credit union and to resolve employee and member problems is required.
