Carbon Felt Inc. is Hiring a Production Technician/ 3rd Shift Near Claremont, NH

Description:

The Production / Manufacturing Technician is responsible for manufacturing good quality products with minimal waste using standard operating procedures (SOP) and other instructions.

  • Cut and prepare raw materials with minimal leftover waste
  • Store goods and raw materials properly in our warehouse
  • Perform preparation of raw materials according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Receive training from experienced workers in assembling products that require extra precision and care
  • Receive training from experienced workers in operating furnaces and ovens
  • Monitor production equipment during operation and report issues to the Production Manager
  • Load and unload products from furnaces and ovens
  • Perform basic quality checks and understand the importance of delivering quality products every time
  • Use forklifts to transport equipment and products
  • Assist in packaging of finished products when and if required
  • Maintain organized work areas and clean floor and equipment
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines to include handling and disposal of materials in the factory
  • Receive training for other computerized machinery as applicable
  • Reporting any issues to supervisor on duty
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Ability to adhere to a strict safety focused work environment
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment
  • Understanding of ISO-9001, OSHA, Lean Manufacturing, 5-S
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and read a tape measure
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping
  • Must be able to work in changing climatic conditions (cold environment in winter months and hot in summer months)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
