Carbon County is Hiring a Grant Coordinator Near Jim Thorpe, PA

BENEFITS: Highmark BC/BS, Vision, Delta Dental and Life Insurance. (First of the month following sixty (60) calendar days)

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB: Grant coordinator will collaborate with various departments to assist and develop relationships with key stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field. 4 years’ experience in project coordination and management with experience in grant writing and management. Or, any acceptable combination of acceptable training/education or experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:

1. Assist in researching and identifying potential grant opportunities, interact with County departments to gather pertinent information.

2. Review and assist with preparing and submitting necessary paperwork for any approved grants in a timely manner.

3. Oversee full grant application process from research, Board approval, proposal submission, and follow up on all grant applications.

4. Stay up to date on all grant trends, guidelines, and best practices for all funding opportunities.

5. Maintain accurate records and documentation to report on the progress and impact of all grant applications and any financial awards from the grant.

6. Receives accurate budgetary and financial reports to monitor grant award compliance from respective departments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Must be able to speak and understand the English language and to follow oral and written instructions. Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

2. Must possess initiative and problem-solving skills.

3. Must possess ability to function independently, have flexibility and the ability to work effectively with employees, department heads, staff and others.

4. Must possess ability to maintain confidentiality in regard County information and records.

5. Must possess some technical knowledge of operating personal computers and other office equipment.

6. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

7. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions.

8. Must be able to handle a high volume and variety of work to be able to switch from one duty to another.

9. Must possess knowledge of principles and practices of all areas of grant writing, tracking, and grant submission requirements.

10. Must possess knowledge and ability to prepare and track budgets.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Works indoors in adequate office space lighting, temperatures and ventilation.

2. Normal exposure to noise and stress, but subject to frequent disruptions.

3. Normal indoor exposure to dust/dirt.

4. Travels occasionally to perform job duties, as needed.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must possess ability to record, convey and present information, explain procedures, follow instructions pay close attention to details and concentrate on work.

2. Must be able to sit for long periods throughout the workday, with intermittent periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping and grasping as necessary to carry out job duties.

3. Dexterity requirements range from simple to coordinated movements of fingers/hands; feet/legs; torso necessary to carry out job duties.

4. Sedentary work, with occasional lifting/carrying of objects with a maximum weight of thirty-five pounds.

5. Must demonstrate emotional stability.

6. Must be able to cope with the physical and mental stress of the position.

7. Must demonstrate resourcefulness in decision making and problem solving.
