Captivation Software is looking for an entry level cloud software engineer who will supports a suite of web-based applications that automate data management for IC data custodians. The products facilitate the capture of information and approvals that allow for the movement of data through the customer mission space in a compliant manner. These products are critical to standardize and simplify data movement as well as data reuse and integration with downstream tools. 

The Cloud Software Engineer associate will become a member of a mature software development effort using Java as the primary language. The development effort uses Agile methods to assign, track and manage software activities and requirements within the team. This position will allow an early career software developer to develop and broaden their skills in the Java language as well as use current technologies such as Quarkus and PrimeFaces. Use of these technologies allows for full stack development, to include ease of building UIs.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field from an accredited college or university is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience. NOTE: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
• Shall have at least 2 years of experience in software engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
• Shall have demonstrated ability to work with OpenSource (NoSQL) products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, Accumulo, Big Table, et cetera.
• Shall have at least one (1) year of experience developing software with high level languages such as Java or C
• Shall have at least two (2) years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts. 

Required Skills:

• Willingness to be a committer/contributor to open source applications
• Java programming for distributed systems, with experience in networking and multi-threading
• Apache Hadoop
• Apache Accumulo
• Apache NiFi
• Agile development experience
• Well-grounded in Linux fundamentals
• Knowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)
• Experience with source code management practices and tools
• Enabling tools: Git, Maven, Jira
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Testing: Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab Cl/Pipelines
• Continuous Monitoring: ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana), Nagios 
• Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
