Capstone is Hiring a Multi-Family Construction Project Manager (Houston Region) Near Alvin, TX

We are searching for a reliable, deadline-driven construction supervisor to oversee construction crews. The construction supervisor's responsibilities include securing contractors, monitoring performance, making recommendations for improvement, monitoring safety.
To be successful as a construction supervisor, you should demonstrate a sound understanding of construction and be able to transfer this knowledge to contractors. Top-notch construction supervisors are leaders who can identify problems and find feasible solutions to them.
Construction Project Manager Responsibilities:
Overview: As a Construction Project Manager, you will oversee and manage construction projects from conception to completion. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all aspects of contractor management.
  • Procuring bids from contractors to perform various construction projects.
  • Selecting and evaluating contractors as well as monitoring and controlling their performance.
  • Submitting bids to ownership for evaluation and approval.
  • Scheduling and ensuring contractors work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines.
  • Monitoring construction processes.
  • Monitoring contractor permitting and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Performing equipment, material, and routine site inspections and punch-outs.
  • Scheduling regular meetings with contractors, site inspectors, managers, ownership.
  • Review and approve contractor and supplier invoices in line with ownership approved contracts.
•Monitor project costs and expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities and obtain owner approval for construction contract overruns.
•Maintain project documentation and records, including change orders, and trackers.
•Develop and maintain project schedules, identifying critical path activities and milestones, documenting accordingly.
•Monitor progress against the schedule, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions as needed and communicating all to management and ownership.
•Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
•Acting as a liaison between the construction company and operations team, reporting directly to the Regional Manager and RVP.
•Proficiently communicate with clients/ownership through both verbal and written channels.
•Working closely with architects and other professionals.
•Staying up-to-date with advancements in construction.
Construction Project Manager Requirements:
  • High school diploma or similar.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or building science is preferred.
  • Experience in the construction industry required.
  • Experience in a leadership role required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to focus and keep calm under pressure.
  • Ability to keep track of multiple projects.
  • Skilled in creating leveling sheets, comparison bid reports, and detailed construction and renovation trackers.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Excel, Microsoft Office, and Teams.
  • Work is typically on construction sites and in office settings, with travel to project sites as required.
  • May involve working extended hours and weekends to meet project deadlines and address emergencies.

In special situations, we may make exceptions to the "no criminal history" policy, depending on the nature of the crime, how many years ago the crime occurred, the total number of crimes committed and other factors. Moving traffic violations will not be considered except for reckless driving, driving while intoxicated or excessive red light or speeding violations.
