Capstone On Campus Management is Hiring a Summer Maintenance Assistant Near Milwaukee, WI

Job Title: Summer Maintenance Assistant

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Location: The Marq at Marquette University

Compensation:$14.00 per hour. Part-time seasonal (15-20 hours/week) summer job.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summer MaintenanceAssistants provide support to the Marq Management maintenance team, Marq Management administration team, and Marquette University Apartment administration team. This includes, but is not limited to, completing and assisting with tasks such as apartmentbuilding turnover, inventory and set-up of furniture in apartment spaces, andbasic maintenance checks/prep across apartmentsSummer maintenance student workers will also collaborate on the summer-long process to prepare student living spaces for August move-in.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work independently or with a group assisting with residential building turnover, conference guests, and providing support to Facilities staff (maintenance, custodial) as well as contracted services (paint, carpet, pest control, etc.). This includes routine maintenance checks and basic cleaning.
  • Work independently or with a group to prepare the residential buildings for new and returning student arrival days in June and August. This includes moving furniture and assorted maintenance tasks.
  • Prepare apartment spaces – includes maintenance checks, cleaning, and furniture relocation (lifting up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis).
  • Prepare apartment spaces for summer conference guests – includes maintenance checks, furniture relocation (lifting up to 50lbs. on routine basis) and setting up apartments (toiletries and bedding).
  • Provide support to Marq maintenance and administrative teams during move-out and move-in around property.
  • Demonstrate positive attitude, clear communication, attention to detail, and good work ethic when completing tasks and working with your team.
  • Other duties, errands, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to work with staff and clients.
  • Professional appearance and strong willingness to positively represent community/department.
  • Ability to execute repetitive tasks at a high level of attention and detail.
  • Ability to lift/move (up to) 50lbs.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and exercise sound judgment based on training as well as existing policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to take direction from multiple individuals (including peers and professional staff members) to accomplish assigned tasks as part of a cohesive team.

Work Schedule:

  • Must be able to begin work Tuesday, May 14, 2024 and work through August 16, 2024.
  • Ability to work 15-20 hours per week: The typical work week is Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm, but a schedule based on your availability will be created upon hire
  • Position may need to work on some evenings or weekends with advanced notice.
