Job Title : Veterinary Pathologist
Location : Kissimmee, FL 34741
Duration : 6 Months Contract (with a possible extension)
Job Description:
Experience in gross anatomical pathology and necropsies
Manages and provides diagnostic and consultative services to veterinary practitioners, animal owners and producers, and regulatory officials.
Assists with overall technical, managerial, and fiscal operations of the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily operations of the necropsy section.
Prepares a weekly and monthly schedule of necropsy services for the gross examination of carcasses, appropriate collection and distribution of samples for analysis to different sections of the laboratory, as well as to third party laboratories.
Assumes responsibility of the direct supervision of the necropsy Laboratory Helper, necropsy Laboratory Technician I, and the veterinarian position.
Maintains direct communication with the facilities manager to assure the proper maintenance of the crematorium, and of the necropsy suite.
Responsible for the upkeep of the necropsy equipment, and the cleanliness and disinfection of the necropsy suite.
Assures appropriate stock of supplies to preclude disruption of operations of the necropsy room.
Prepares worksheets requesting supplies as needed.
