    Position Title: Temporary Facilities Project Manager
    Division/ Program: Facilities & Construction
    Overview: This position will report to and assist the Director of Facilities. They will assist with and coordinate renovation projects varying in size and scope across CREC buildings and schools. They will be responsible for some project planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role will involve coordinating with contractors and various stakeholders, and confirming compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
    Essential Job Functions:

      Oversee project planning, timelines, and budgets for assigned projects.

      Coordinate with internal and external resources, and other stakeholders as needed to ensure that project requirements are clearly defined and understood.

      Assist with the inventory of existing furniture and updating electronic documentation.

      Coordinate various small furniture and staff moves required internally to CREC facilities

      Conduct site visits and assessments to verify project progression and ensure workmanship and materials meet or exceed industry standards.

      Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure that projects are completed within approved funding limits and timeframes.

      Identify and manage project changes and the potential impact on budget and schedule.

      Ensure that construction activities comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

      Assist with communication to project stakeholders, including school administrators, faculty, staff, and the facility team.

      Coordinate project meetings and issue meeting summary/minutes as needed.

      Communicate project status updates, milestones, and potential delays.

    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

      Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.

      Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and represent the department/ organization well.

      Familiarity with software for project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

      Proven experience managing projects, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.

      Detail oriented

      Ability to work independently.

    Equipment:

      Microsoft Applications

      Google Suite

      Outlook/ Copier/ plotter, etc.

      Must provide own laptop for use during the temporary period

    Travel Requirements:

      Travel will be needed to various CREC magnet schools, CREC Central Offices, and CREC leased buildings

    Qualification Requirements:

      Must have at least 5 years Project Management experience (preferably with facilities/ non-profit/ State of CT knowledge)

      Must be able to work independently

      Must be able to work 20 hours/ week with flexible hours between 8am-5pm based upon project needs
