    Position Purpose
    Under the supervision of school administration or designee, to support to classroom teachers by providing behavior intervention to dysregulated students. To build relationships with those students that need positive reinforcement and incentives to achieve their academic goals.
    Essential Job Functions

      Provide support to students exhibiting dysregulated behaviors in the classroom.

      Build strong relationships with students to encourage positive behavior outcomes

      Develop behavior plans in collaboration with school social works, special education team, and classroom teachers

      Utilize district positive behavior model to address strategies that will develop desired outcomes and coping skills with student’s school wide.

      Analyze and disseminate data regarding issues of racial bias with over-identified students being issued behavior referrals disproportionately.

      Support daily functions of the school including but not limited to arrival, dismissal, lunch coverage, and covering classrooms as needed.

      Provide small group intervention under the direction of the school social worker and classroom teacher.

      Collect, track and enter student data into the district portal.

      Support administration of state, district and school assessments.

      Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff.

    Additional Duties

      Assist guidance, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed.

      Perform any other related duties as assigned.

      Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

      Computer skills needed to utilize digital intervention programs as well as to perform data entry for tracking student achievement.

      Flexibility and responsiveness to student needs.

      Ability to apply positive behavior management strategies.

      Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.

      Ability to work and communicate with diverse populations.

      Ability to serve as a positive, professional role model for students.

      Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed to assist students.

      Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel).

      Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.

      Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students with special needs.

      Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.

      Effective writing and verbal communication skills.

    Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

      Lift greater than 25 pounds.

      Get from kneeling to standing and standing to kneeling with ease and without outside support.

      Kneel on one knee, both knees.

      Get up and down from floor without assistance.

      Bend from the legs with ease.

      Shuffle quickly on your feet front to back, back to front, side to side.

      Works in standard office, school building environments, and on buses or vans.

      Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.

    Qualifications Profile:

      H.S. Diploma Required. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred;.

      Proficient in all academic areas.
