Capitol Park Early Learning Center provides a safe, nurturing learning environment for children. We value our relationships with families and maintain open lines of communication to ensure the highest level of care for all children. Teachers are responsible for supporting the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development of children. This is done through play and age appropriate materials and activities.
Teachers have the opportunity to continue their education in the field of Early Childhood Education through T.E.A.C.H. program scholarships starting with their CDA up to a Bachelor's Degree in ECE with teacher licensure.
Professional development opportunities are offered and paid for throughout the year. Each employee is required to receive at least 25 hours of training per calendar year.
The program partners with United Way of Central Iowa, Iowa Association for the Education of Young Children, Polk County Early Childhood Initiative, and Drake University Early Head Start to offer classroom support and professional development.

We are looking for individuals with experience or a desire to learn more about the field of Early Childhood Education.
We offer a $200 hiring bonus after the first 90 days.
We offer a bonus based on attendance quarterly.

T.E.A.C.H & WAGE$ participation (for those working at least 20 hours per week).
Qualifications:
Required- at least 18 years old (for full time, 16 for part time), high school diploma or GED preferred, completion of all state-required early childhood training classes, one year experience in group child care preferred. Successful applicants are expected to continue formal training to meet program requirements. Applicant must be able to work any shift between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday to meet state ratio requirements.
Preferred- A CDA (Child Development Associate Credential), two years experience in group child care. If applicant does not currently hold a CDA, they will be required to attain their CDA within 18 months of hire with help through the T.E.A.C.H. scholarship and paid center release time.
