Capital Program Management, Inc. is Hiring a Construction Cost Accountant/Budget Analyst Near Long Beach, CA

Job Description:

Capital Program Management (CPM) seeks a cost accounting/budget analyst to work with our Long Beach USD client’s Measures E & Q programs. In this role, you will assist the school district financial/accounting department to apply basic accounting principles related to accounts payable, including account coding and internal controls.

Responsibilities include:

  • Input of accounting data into software system following district protocols.
  • Review and analyze invoices from vendors for appropriate charges and route for approvals to appropriate individuals.
  • Work with third-party vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Review and analyze budget expenditure reports for state funded facilities programs for compliance and accuracy.
  • Prepare accruals for year-end closing.
  • Prepare budget adjustments.
  • Reconcile project expenditures on bond financial system with District financial system

Qualifications needed:

  • Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook
  • Ability to analyze financial related documents for irregularities and errors
  • Extremely detail oriented, organized and efficient
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Familiarization with School accounting systems a plus
  • 3-5 years experience
