CAPITAL is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Consumer Acquisition Representative to join our team. The Consumer Acquisition Representative is responsible for the direct acquisition of vehicles from individual consumers. This role involves engaging with potential sellers, assessing vehicle conditions, negotiating purchases, and ensuring a smooth transition of vehicles into the dealership’s inventory. The representative will work closely with the Manager of Consumer Vehicle Acquisition and other dealership departments to meet acquisition targets and contribute to the dealership’s overall goals. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a keen understanding of market trends, and a passion for the automotive industry.

Consumer Acquisition Representative Responsibilities:

  • Consumer Engagement: Actively engage with potential sellers to source vehicles for the dealership. This includes responding to inquiries, setting up appointments, and maintaining a positive customer experience.
  • Vehicle Assessment: Evaluate the condition of vehicles, including their history, status, and market value, to determine suitability for purchase.
  • Negotiation and Purchase: Negotiate purchase terms with vehicle owners, ensuring transactions are fair and align with dealership policies and market rates.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Handle all necessary documentation related to vehicle acquisition, ensuring compliance with legal and dealership standards.
  • Coordination with Other Departments: Collaborate with departments such as finance, titles, and logistics to facilitate the smooth acquisition and integration of vehicles into the dealership’s inventory.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about current market trends and prices in the automotive industry to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Inventory Management Support: Assist in managing the dealership’s acquired vehicle inventory, ensuring timely processing and readiness for sale.
  • Performance Reporting: Regularly report to the Manager of Consumer Vehicle Acquisition on acquisition efforts, challenges, and market opportunities.
  • Customer Follow-Up: Maintain contact with sellers’ post-acquisition to ensure satisfaction and potentially generate future acquisition opportunities.
  • Collaboration for Business Goals: Work in tandem with sales and marketing teams to align acquisition strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Other duties assigned

Consumer Acquisition Representative Requirements:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of automotive models, valuation, and industry trends.
  • Minimum of five years experience in the automotive industry.
  • Ability to assess vehicle conditions accurately.
  • Basic understanding of legal and regulatory requirements in vehicle transactions.
  • Proficiency in handling documentation and record-keeping.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team and report effectively.
  • Must pass pre-employment background screenings
