Works with surgeons and other health care practitioners providing surgical care to patients in a variety of settings. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Possesses the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure through maintenance of the sterile field. Serves as a resource in a lead role for other Surgical Technicians in department.
