What you will be working on:

Assist customers of our Gastroenterology practice that call or visit our offices. This position requires a strong and focused effort on providing quality customer service over the telephone and in other forms of communication. This position requires a high degree of patient, staff, and physician interaction. A professional demeanor is required at all times, as is utilization of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

· Greets visitors warmly upon arrival

· Assists patients with scheduling, relay information to patients as directed by management or doctor/advanced care provider and offers to facilitate solutions that meet patient and practice needs

· Answers doctor’s backline, doctor’s/hospital line and patient calls

· Manages group telephones messages for MDD Laurel Phone Agents

· Maintains incoming referral program

· Processing and distribution of mail daily

· Retrieving and distributing incoming faxes

· Aids with scanning into EMR as needed

· Other administrative duties as assigned

What you’ll know:

· A successful applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

· High School Diploma or GED required, some college is preferred

· 1 year medical scheduling experience

· Working knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS Coding

· Strong verbal and written communication skills with patients, co-workers and providers

· Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite

· EMR experience preferred

· Must be a team-player with excellent multi-tasking and interpersonal skills

· Compassion for patient needs and a high degree of professionalism
