Capital City Press is Hiring an Environmental Reporter Near Orleans, LA

Job Title: Environmental Reporter

Location: New Orleans, LA

No place in America is more imperiled by climate change than south Louisiana: Our brutal summers are getting hotter; our hurricanes are getting stronger; and the waves are eating away our shores. Even as sea-level rise threatens us, we are a state and region whose economy has historically been dependent on fossil fuels. We need a great reporter to help us tell this incredibly complicated story.

We have an opening on the nationally recognized, four-member environmental team at The Times-Picayune | The Advocate, Louisiana’s largest news organization. You’ll get to work with a veteran staff housed in four newsrooms across the state, juggling enterprise work with breaking news.

Job Skills and Qualifications:

An ability to analyze and understand data is required. Experience at a news organization that publishes daily is preferable.

We are an equal employment opportunity employer, committed to recruiting, developing, and promoting a diverse workforce while providing unique opportunities and career paths for our employees. We encourage applicants of all backgrounds and experience levels to apply.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, parental leave and 401(k) match.
