Capital Area Intermediate Unit is Hiring a School Psychologist Near Enola, PA

Salary: This professional position follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule, starting at Master's, Step 1 - $55,332 for the 23/24 SY

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 190 days/year. This position follows the Early Intervention stretch calendar over 12 months.

Job Goal: To function as a member of the multi-disciplinary team providing recommendations based on assessments conducted for specially-designed instruction; provide direct and indirect services through consultation, individual/group counseling, and parent support and to act as a case manager when needed in the referral process.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Process referrals of individuals referred for Early Intervention services
2. Act as a case manager for those cases that require more than routine involvement; work with diagnostic teams and provide consultation and coordination of results for programming.
3. Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations/reevaluations that include, but are not limited to, the assessment of intellectual, developmental, academic, social/emotional, and behavioral status.
4. Provide assessment and data collection by use of informal or non-standardized evaluation techniques.
5. Interpret and utilize assessment data for the purpose of writing psychological reports and developing written intervention plans.
6. Provide crisis intervention.
7. Conducting observations, developing behavior management plans, developing academic strategies for students, providing support with families, and developing classroom management strategies and approaches.
8. Participate in professional development activities conducted by the CAIU or outside agencies and remain abreast and current on issues and changes related to the practice of school psychology.
9. Complete data entry logs required for billing purposes.
10. Complete records and reports within the required timelines.
11. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by Program Director, Director or Assistant Director of Student Services, and/or his/her/their designee(s).
12. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or his/her designee.

Qualifications:

1. At least a Master's Degree in School Psychology.
2. Valid PA School Psychology Certification (PDE).
3. Full certification in Safe Crisis Management (SCM) or Safety Care in order to actively participate in restraints depending upon the specific position and posting.
4. Strong verbal and written language skills.
5. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to build rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders.
7. Proficient computer skills and knowledge including use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software as may be required.
8. Psychology license, preferred.
9. Minimum 3 years school-based experience, preferred.
