Job Title: Delivery Director - Transition Director
Location: Virtual

Job Description:
Responsibilities
The Senior Transition Manager will apply project and transition management skills and methodologies to transfer contracted responsibility and Infrastructure services from the client to Capgemini during the initial stages of the contract. This role will also be responsible for performing engagement hand-over, execution pre-planning and aggressive execution of knowledge transfer from client or incumbent service provider staff. Expectations include the development and execution of project plans and schedules for the transition within defined time frames and budgets, as well as staff the transition team and manage infrastructure setup as required.
Specific duties include:
  • Responsible for planning and overseeing the transfer of key information necessary for the support, operation and acceptance of solutions deployed into production. This includes operational readiness, support documentation and acceptance checklists.
  • Ensure service transition is planned and executed to schedule, budget and scope
  • Build transition plans including support models, change management, learning and communication deliverables using transition framework
  • Coordinate the operational readiness plan, taking into consideration IT deployment, data migration, capability deployment (training and engagement activities) and any activities required to integrate new processes, tools or technologies into the steady state environment
  • Manage the overall knowledge transfer process
  • Manage the execution of the staffing plan
  • Assess, analyse, develop, document and implement changes based on requests for change
  • Work with the members of the transition team to establish end-to-end project plan and approach
  • Participate as member of the pursuit deal working on closing new business
  • Responsible for crafting the transition solution (schedule, transition team staff, staffing ramp up for knowledge transfer, transition costs) during the pursuit phase
  • Compose transition documentation on pursuits
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
  • Experience of transitioning IT projects with personal accountability for delivering to time and cost for transition budgets upwards of $5M in value and six months or longer in duration
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and groups on a global basis
  • Track record of customer focus, based on openness, trust, and delivering on promises
  • IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in different project phases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrates commitment to IT methodologies, processes and standards for transition planning and support
  • Transition manager is expected to act independently to deliver to schedule, budget and scope
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proven experience in solution design and delivery
  • Proven ability to develop positive working relationships in a distributed team is valued
  • Ability to assess service transition risks
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the process competency principles and practices
  • Ability to identify and escalate project risk
  • Develop relationships across the IT organization
Experience
  • 10 years of experience in Infrastructure project management or management in an IT operations group
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Infrastructure transition and/or project management or related technical field (deployment/implementation and infrastructure, Azure/AWS/Google cloud)
  • Work experience in a professional services industry, preferred
Skills and Certifications
Certification Requirements:
  • Datacenter experience
  • AWS/Azure cloud experience
  • Project management certification is preferred (PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Familiarity with ITIL v2 or 3
