Job Title: Industry Consultant - Technology and Business Transformation - Utilities - DERMS

Job Location: Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago

Job Summary: The Industry Consultant (IC) is a recognized expert within his/her domain or industry segment. ICs are trusted advisors for executive level leadership at clients (including C-suite), who help shape vision and strategy for business and digital transformation. Leveraging their deep industry experience, they identify client value opportunities and work with Capgemini teams to create or tailor our solution offerings for the client. They are instrumental in the Go-To-Market process, including quantifying the value proposition in a defensible and relatable framework and presenting proposals and approaches directly to clients. ICs also engage during the delivery stage, serving as a conduit between the client (business) and the technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution:

Devote 50-60% of time to project delivery for clients

Provide “voice of the customer” perspective for project team members, often serving as a proxy Product Owner/Manager
Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
Lead client workshops, create project plans, and track follow-up tasks
Document requirements, business processes, architectures, integrations and KPIs
Provide strategic insights and guidance based on industry trends and best practices.

Go-to-Market Strategy:

Work closely with the Business Unit leadership and sales team to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the industry.

Contribute to the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for key service offerings.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as a trusted advisor to clients (including C-suite executives), offering insights and recommendations based on industry knowledge and experience.

Establish and nurture strategic partner relationships in key areas (e.g., DERMS, network operations, AMI, comms networks, market integration, etc.)

Continuous Learning and Market Eminence:

Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to remain a subject matter expert.

Develop “points of view” on relevant topics and partner with marketing to publish market-facing content.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of industry experience in electric utility distribution operations and/or DER integration, including:
    • DERMS deployment and operation
      • Grid edge DERMS
      • Network optimization DERMS
    • DER network impact modeling, including interconnection
    • System Integration (IT/OT systems to include SCADA, ADMS, AMI, PI historian, database)
    • Long term DER integrated planning
    • DER integrated load forecasting and scenario analysis
    • Industry standards like IEEE 2030, OpenADR, DNP3, IEC 61850, UL 1741 and ISO/IEC 27001
  • Proven track record of successful project support and delivery in technology and business transformation
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, challenges, and opportunities
  • Digital enablement experience in areas of manufacturing operations, supply chain, corporate functions, and/or commercial functions
  • Deep understanding of leading digital technologies and ability to design a tailored solution to meet clients’ needs.
  • Deep understanding of IT/OT/engineering/HW products and heavily services used in industry certifications are a plus.
