Cape Point Bait is a successful and growing wholesale frozen bait distributor to retailers and wildlife centers throughout the East Coast. We are seeking dependable, career minded people with a good attitude to join our team in Beaufort, NC and learn valuable warehouse and production skills.

The Cape Point Bait Warehouse/Production Associate is responsible for assisting with the bait packaging and production process in the mornings. This positions also assists in shipping/receiving, truck loading and freezer organization. Warehouse/Production associates are exposed to wet conditions, extreme cold in freezer, and fish processing areas on a consistent basis and must be physically capable of lifting 50lbs from floor to waist height.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safely operate all the necessary equipment in work area including electric and gas forklifts, electric pallet jacks, vacuum packaging equipment, air powered tools, and other misc.
• To accurately place materials on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in an orderly fashion.
• Attaches identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on cases or other containers to ensure FIFO (first in first out).
• Support the bait packaging process including filleting and packing fish.
• Clean the processing, freezer, and receiving areas of debris and fish waste on daily basis.

Competencies:

• Be able to identify product by size, type, style, color or product code.
• Solid reading skills – must be able to read orders/match orders on shipping tickets to items picked.
• Basic math skills and reasoning skills.
• Ability to understand and execute instructions.
• Forklift experience highly preferred.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
• Ability to consistently come to work on time and perform duties

Physical Requirements:

• Able to move/lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Able to work in extreme cold in freezer wearing appropriate company provided gear
• Position spends 100% of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing
• Position may require climbing of ladders for top-level selection
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
