Cape Girardeau Public Schools is Hiring a Part-Time Math Teacher Near Cape Girardeau, MO

The Cape Girardeau Public School District is seeking a Part-time Math Teacher for Terry W. Kitchen Junior High School for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Math teacher is responsible for facilitating the learning of 7th and 8th grade mathematics content for every student by creating a stimulating learning environment and reteaching academic lessons to assist all students in reaching their own academic potential.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Math Education
  • Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
  • Strong mathematical content knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the needs of a diverse student population
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and nurture relationships
  • An aptitude for mentoring and fostering teacher-student relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree and/or Advanced Mathematics Certificate
  • Prior experience teaching Algebra and Geometry content
  • Previous experience working with Power of ICU Program
  • Working knowledge of Professional Learning Communities
