This position will support Walter Reed Military Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. The position shall provide intensive nursing care to complex, critically ill patients. Continually assess condition of 1 to 2 patients for potential or life-threatening crisis or up to 3 step-down equivalent patients. React to any emergency situation, e.g., cardiac or respiratory arrest, hemorrhage, shock, severe physical trauma and psychiatric reaction. Serve as member of resuscitation team.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience: Member needs to have at minimum 3 years of experience. Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the last 3 calendar years in a primary care setting. Must have direct hands-on experience in the last 3 years with computer operations, basic word processing, data entry, and use/maintenance of automated electronic medical records is required. Ambulatory care and telehealth experience preferred.

• Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification preferred

• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse as required in the TO. Must adhere to HIPAA, Privacy Act guidelines and be able to perform work in a confidential manner.

Self-motivated with minimal oversight.

Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift a maximum of 25 pounds.

• Sit or Stand throughout a regular 8-hour work day.

• Ability to work on computer for long periods.
