Facility Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Location Fayetteville, North Carolina Department Nursing Quality Job Family Clerical Work Shift Days (United States of America) Summary Is responsible for receiving, entering, maintaining, interpreting data, as well as distribution of information. Assists in coordination of all data from Quality, Patient Safety, and Infection Control. Processes all documents for adjustments to appropriate files and departmental personnel. Manages the overall clerical operation of the department. Organizes, processes, files, and retrieves departmental program files and records to aid in interpreting, implementing, and facilitating departmental and Health System policies and procedures. Promotes a positive and professional image of the department and Cape Fear Valley Health System. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission and vision of Cape Fear Valley Health System. Education and Formal Training: High school graduate required. Associate degree preferred. Work Experience: At least two (2) years’ experience in a secretarial/administrative field. Healthcare experience desired. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Possesses a working knowledge of computer software including databases, spreadsheets, graphics, and word processing. Has successfully completed and possesses working knowledge of medical terminology. Confidentiality is of utmost importance. Works with sensitive information and materials. Verbal ability is needed to comprehend and communicate effectively with all levels of hospital staff. Has ability to work with the public and ensuring that the office functions properly. Work involves a variety of changing activities. Has ability to collaborate with people in a tactful, diplomatic manner. Physical Requirements: Must be able to see, hear, read, and have manual ability to use telephones, computer keyboard and gather reports from other departments as needed.
