Job Title: Maintenance Technician at Varsity Campus

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician at Varsity Campus is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient operation of all building systems and utilities in order to create a conducive living and learning environment for the residents, staff, and visitors. The incumbent will perform a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks, responding to work orders and conducting routine inspections to identify potential issues. The Maintenance Technician must have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct routine inspections of all campus facilities, including residential buildings, common areas, and outdoor spaces, to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards.

2. Perform repairs and maintenance tasks promptly and efficiently, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs as needed.

3. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to the campus systems, such as heating, cooling, ventilation, sprinkler, and fire alarm systems.

4. Respond to work orders promptly, prioritize tasks, and complete them in a timely manner while ensuring minimal disruption to residents or ongoing activities.

5. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including work performed, materials used, and time spent, using designated computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

6. Assist in the coordination and supervision of subcontractors and vendors for specialized repairs or projects as needed.

7. Maintain inventory of repair equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring they are properly stored, maintained, and readily available when needed.

8. Implement and adhere to safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, to maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

9. Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing residents' inquiries, concerns, and maintenance requests, and maintaining open lines of communication with all stakeholders.

10. Collaborate with the campus management team to make recommendations for improvements in maintenance practices, budget requirements, and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school education preferred.

2. Proven experience as a maintenance technician or a similar role, preferably in a multi-residential or educational setting.

3. Strong working knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs.

4. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

5. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues effectively and efficiently.

6. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

7. Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar software.

8. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

9. Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and management.

10. Physical stamina and capability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform various physical tasks as required.

11. Valid driver's license and willingness to use personal vehicle for work-related tasks when necessary.
