CAMP DIRECTOR – SUMMER CAMP

Position Summary:

Implement and supervise all camp programs in accordance with YMCA and Massachusetts Department of Health regulations and operating standards.

Essential Functions:

1. In conjunction with Director, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and supervises staff and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
2. Ensures the safety and health of all campers in accordance with applicable Massachusetts requirements and YMCA requirements through proper supervision.
3. Oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of daily/weekly camp programs.
4. Maintains positive relations with campers, parents, and other staff. Models’ positive relationship-building skills in all interactions.
5. Oversee management of all recordkeeping.
6. Ensure all equipment and property is maintained minimizing damage. Inform the Property and Facilities Director if the equipment needs to be repaired.
7. Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.
8. Works with Director to achieve goals for budget.
9. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes reports as necessary.
10. Maintains a clean and safe environment, ensuring the area is free of clutter, debris and hazardous conditions.
11. Other duties as assigned.
