Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is Hiring a Surgery Veterinary Technician Near Buzzards Bay, MA

Surgical Technician Needed

Up to $2500 sign on bonus! Are you looking for an engaging, fast paced work environment where patient care and continuous learning are paramount? We provide a constant learning environment with boarded specialists in surgery, anesthesiology, emergency/critical care, cardiology, and radiology; as well as certified, experienced nursing staff. Currently hiring all shifts due to increased surgery schedule. Part time or full time hours are available.

As the only emergency and specialty referral hospital serving Cape Cod and the Islands, Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists continues to grow to keep up with the needs of our community. We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced veterinary professionals to join our team who welcome the challenge of meeting the highest standards for quality and performance, and possess a friendly, positive and team player attitude.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Nursing skills, patient care and compassion
  • Assist surgeons with appointments (orthopedic radiographs, bandage changes, suture removals)
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment
  • Constantly advance your knowledge base and skill set
  • Assist with training of new staff and assist other departments, as needed
  • Help cover on call hours

Skills and Qualifications:

  • CVT, RVT, or LVT preferred
  • Four years of surgical veterinary experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of veterinary procedures and disease related to surgical procedures
  • Anesthesia and analgesia experience
  • Excellent communication skills, time management, ability to problem solve, learn and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to anticipate and be detail oriented due to high level of patient care.
  • Must be an enthusiastic team player with a patient, and positive professional attitude.
  • Must be able to lift and restrain pets of at least 50 pounds and work on feet most of the day.
