Cape Cod Surgeons, P.C. is Hiring a Medical Receptionist Near Falmouth, MA

We are hiring an experienced full-time Medical Receptionist for the check-in desk at our General Surgery office in Falmouth, MA. This permanent position is Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Preference will be given to candidates with Epic systems experience.

General responsibilities are:

  • Checks patients in at the office, collects copayment, updates information as needed
  • Answers all incoming calls with a friendly demeanor in a timely manner, schedules incoming and outgoing appointments throughout the day, triages calls to route them to the appropriate person
  • Registers patients and updates existing patient information accurately, verifies health insurance, requests insurance referrals from PCP, follows up on all requests
  • Maintain physician's daily appointment schedule, processes cancellations and no show appointments, and notifies physicians of change in schedule
  • Opens and distributes mail to appropriate staff, organizes and orders office supplies
  • Maintain patient records by scanning documents into patient's chart, such as: referring physician/consultation reports, radiology reports, test results, registration forms, authorizations, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information in accordance to HIPAA regulations
  • Works and communicates effectively with co-workers, patients, visitors and other personnel, able to multi-task, ask questions and communicate with all staff
  • Keeps reception area organized and clean

Qualifications:

  • Professional and friendly demeanor and attire, eagerness to help and willingness to learn
  • Works well in a fast-paced team environment
  • 2 years of medical office experience
  • Strong computer, customer service and time management skills, ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues, familiar with office technology applications such as Electronic Health Records, MS Office, etc.
  • Experience with Epic systems strongly preferred
  • Types 40 WPM required, knowledge of medical terminology and/or general health insurance knowledge is required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
