Description

Cape Ann’s Marina Resort is seeking an experienced Retail Store and Parts Manager at Cape Ann Marine Sales & Service. Located within the resort, in the heart of Gloucester on the Annisquam River, with 260 boat slips, sales and services for all boating needs.

OVERVIEW: The Retail and Parts Manager must exude friendliness with customer skills, and lead by example. They must be organized and poised for creating a retail experience from A-Z, from the front line customers to the behind the scenes of cash management as it relates to AR, Invoicing and AP. It is vital this person have a team focused management style, with the ability to work closely and communicate effectively between technicians and other departments

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS: Service Manager, Sales Personnel, Technicians, Retail Clerks, Accounting, Storage and Yard Managers

Direct Report: Head of Service

Qualifications


REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS:

· Great friendly attitude and demeanor with customers and co-workers

· A team leader as well as a team player and supporter across personal and management

· Strong attention to detail

· Confident in skill set of inventory management and willingness to train others

· Strong analytical skills while multi-tasking with others

· Communicates effectively

· Ability to adapt to change

· Establish consistent procedures to implement to staff

· Accurate file keeping to support vendor relationships; including ordering,returns and warranty items

· Inventory control and management for every season, including cycle counts and working with technicians on parts accounting

· Manage all cash, deposits, AP, AR

· Create and maintain attractive retail areas, organized, clean and tidy

· Establish, coordinate and execute monthly status reporting, checks and balances for the retail department as well as for Service, Service management and Finance Manager

· Manage and seek out suppliers and build relationships

· Assist with projects as needed

PLUS:

- Must like boats

- Strong computer knowledge of parts, inventory, POS based program. “Dockmaster” Software preferred.

- Ability to manage 1-2 clerks and previous management experience

- Solid foundation using Outlook, Word and Excel

- Must have a firm grasp of office equipment, scanning, emailing, POS and cash register operation

- 3 years of experience in inventory or parts management in a retail/customer service environment

- Strong accounting, QuickBooks or other related software, skills or education

- Social media and marketing knowledge a plus
