CAP Services Inc. is Hiring a Crisis Shelter Advocate Near Stevens, WI

LTE Shelter Advocate

Work site: Family Crisis Center – Stevens Point, WI

Start Date: as soon as possible

Starting Pay: $19.69-$21.47 per hour, depending on experience

Benefits: 401K

Status: LTE, 0-16 hours per week, as needed position

Duties: The position exists to meet the immediate needs of callers on a 24-hour crisis and information hotline and walk-in visitors presenting for a variety of concerns including mental health, family dysfunction, domestic abuse and sexual assault. The position also meets the needs of domestic violence victims and their children as well as youth-in-crisis who are receiving emergency shelter services at the Family Crisis Center.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in psychology, social work, human services or related degree and One year of relatable work or work considered preparatory, leading to a working knowledge of crisis intervention/youth/domestic violence/sexual assault services. OR
  • Associates Degree in related field and three years of the same work or work considered preparatory, leading to a working knowledge of crisis intervention/youth/domestic violence/sexual assault services. OR
  • High School Diploma and 5 years of relatable work or work considered preparatory, leading to a working knowledge of crisis intervention/youth/domestic violence/sexual assault services.
  • Must be able to respond on site within 30 minutes of being contacted during scheduled on call.

--If you are passionate about Advocacy work, this LTE Shelter Advocate position may be a perfect fit for you. This is a permanent position at the Family Crisis Center. After an extensive training period, LTE staff assist in covering shelter and the 24-hour Crisis line when there is a need. Looking for someone who has availability to work am/pm and overnights shifts.
