The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics - Winchester Orthopaedic Associates Division is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team!

This opportunity is perfect for an athletic training professional seeking a position with a well-established Orthopaedic group. The Athletic Trainer will utilize their skills and expertise in a multi-faceted role in our Winchester, Virginia location. See Job Responsibilities below for details about the position.

Requirements:

• Athletic Trainer with current BOC certification and Virginia license
• Two (2) years of experience in related field
• Skills: Computer proficiency, detail-oriented, strong verbal and written communication skills, able to work independently and problem-solve

Preferred, but not required:

• Prior medical office experience
• Knowledge of insurance plans

Status: full-time, non-exempt. 

Pay Rate: commensurate with experience.

Job Responsibilities (not an all-inclusive list):

Mobility Coach - avg. 3 days/week (M-F)

• Days/hours will vary depending on the operating room schedule. Typical work hours will range between 10am-6pm
• Assist with post-operative patient assessments at the outpatient surgery center (located approx. 1.5 miles from office).

DME Coordinator - avg. 2 days/week (M-F)

• Days/hours will offset Mobility Coach schedule. Work hours match orthopaedic clinic hours of operation: 8am-5pm
• Fit patients for DME as prescribed by physician or advanced practitioner; customize bracing to the patient for optimal support, fit and immobilization.
• Instruct patients in proper fitting and usage of DME products.
• Create or recommend teaching aids or tools for patient education.
• Monitor and maintain DME inventory; place orders as necessary
• Provide education to staff on new and existing DME products
• Correspond with DME vendors to evaluate products
• Initiate insurance authorization for DME products; follow-up as needed
