Canyon Creek Pet Hospital is immediately hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

• Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals including appointments, surgeries, supportive care, and diagnostics.
• Educate clients on services and patient care
• Help maintain hospital cleanliness
• Be able to safely restrain various-sized dogs and cats
• Communicating and educating clients on medical procedures, vaccines, various medications, treatment plans etc.
• Assisting DVMs and LVTs with patients during pre-op, surgery, and post-op.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology
• Ability to appropriately handle, lift and restrain animals (dogs, cats, pocket pets, etc.) and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform veterinary medical procedures (i.e. SQ/IM injections, radiographs, running lab work, obtain patient histories, fill medications, surgery preparation and cleanup, instrument cleaning/packing and sterilization, client education, venipuncture and IVC skills a plus!).
• Demonstrate basic organizational and computer skills
• Must have recent experience in a veterinary practice with increasing responsibilities. *
