Canyon Aeroconnect is Hiring a Buyer Near Prescott, AZ

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. This position is located in Prescott, AZ and is not available for remote work or relocation.

Role purpose (position scope):

Buyer II is responsible for ensuring all MRP planned requirements are executed in support of production.

Must be able to meet all minimum standards within 90 days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for procurement of materials, services, and supplies in support of MRP requirements. Processing RMA’s for discrepant material.
  • Participates in selection, qualification, negotiation using supplier management skills under guidance of Supervisor.
  • Performs purchasing functions including: analyzes quotations received, and selects or recommends suppliers.
  • Interact with vendors and inter-department customers throughout the purchasing and selling process; resolve bid irregularities, performs price and cost analysis, negotiates prices and terms.
  • Proactively communicate with suppliers, with regard to improving service levels, quality accuracy and communication.
  • Resolve purchase order and invoice differences with suppliers, as to wrong deliveries, payments, invoices, credits, payment terms, and duplicate billings.
  • Maintain long-term contracts, which may or may not involve subcontracts with special provisions that may be changed and renegotiated throughout the duration of the contract.
  • Assist as required to process MRO requirements.
  • Supporting 100% Customer On Time To Promise (OTTP) through managing assigned supplier performance to 100% On-time Delivery (OTD) and quality
  • Comply and uphold Canyon AeroConnect SHE policies and standards.
  • Comply with the Canyon AeroConnect Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Core Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, (Oracle a plus) – MRP / Purchasing focus
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and software packages, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat Professional
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of automated purchasing operations including data input into system. “Right first time” attitude

Level II – Intermediate (Experienced)

  • KNOWLEDGE – Full use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. General application of concepts and principles.
  • JOB COMPLEXITY – Works on problems of moderate scope and complexity, where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • DISCRETION/LATITTUDE - Works under general supervision. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, and overall adequacy and accuracy
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – Bachelor’s Degree (or the equivalent combination of education and experience) and 3 years of related experience. APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Certification – CPIM) or ability to obtain such within (3) years of employment.
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE – Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defense experience.

  • Shortages – number / revenue impact

Physical Demands:

  • Tasks involve light physical effort in sedentary to light work; may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects or materials (5 – 20 lbs.)
