What you’ll do

The home base for this dream job is at our Home Office in Lone Tree. The following is a sneak peek into what a Card Services Rep II's Day looks like:

The Card Service Representative II is responsible for all functions relating to the Canvas Credit Union card program and represents the card program in projects, implementations/changes and meetings with management. They work with family members to resolve problems and escalate issues both internally and with 3rd party vendors to resolve more complex issues as necessary. The Card Service Representative will work closely with the Dispute and Fraud Team and other EBO team members to ensure cards are functioning properly. They are responsible for providing superior service to internal and external members and promoting member relationships that exceed expectations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) of the card portfolio. Represent all card processes and functions in meetings, projects, implementations and new compliance updates or changes.
  • Minimize the risk of fraud to members’ accounts by monitoring and promptly responding to real-time Falcon Alerts throughout the day. Escalate fraud related cases to the Fraud Department.
  • Track and monitor statistical data of the card portfolio and give an overview to management on a monthly basis.
  • Process card files and data. Monitor systems and related reports to ensure the timely ordering, maintenance and general performance from our core processor and other vendors to ensure optimal service delivery to members. Escalate complex issues with vendors as necessary.
  • Process returned cards and pin numbers weekly.
  • Assist departments and branches by responding to inquiries/concerns from members.
  • Review daily processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Update job procedures, participate in audits and communicate Cards Department changes to the organization.
  • Follow the organization’s policies and procedures as well as applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Consistently meet department quality, service and production standards that promote member satisfaction, retention, and expansion.
  • Exhibit support for the organization’s goals, values, initiatives, and cost control.
  • Comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements.
  • Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate filing system.
  • Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

  • Thorough knowledge of Regulation Z, Regulation CC and Regulation E.
  • Knowledge of Co-op (Efunds) rules and regulations.
  • Professional, courteous, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship building, customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Efficient organizational and time management skills with ability to work independently, multi-task using several systems daily and manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain confidences.
  • Pre-employment background review (components include criminal, employment, address, social security number, motor vehicle record, global sanctions, and sex offender)

Education or Formal Training: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position at a financial institution, preferably in a credit union environment.

Working Environment/Physical Activities

High volume, fast-paced office environment. The job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, fax machines and filing cabinets. The position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. The position requires bending, stooping, or standing, as necessary.

The starting pay range for this position is $23.61-25.02/hour, and final pay rate will be determined based on experience and internal equity factors.
