Outpatient Licensed Therapist - Position Overview:

  • The CBHS Outpatient Therapist is responsible for providing clinical services to individuals enrolled in the outpatient clinic.
  • He/she is responsible for providing the clinical support necessary for implementation of the therapeutic services through the
    establishment of a comprehensive therapeutic relationship with youth and families based on the provision of individual, family, and group therapy for the clinic.
  • The CBHS Therapist assures that the program meets all state, federal and regulatory organizational guidelines and regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

Therapeutic Relationship:

  • Conduct individual therapy as needed
  • Conduct family therapy as needed
  • Conduct group therapy as needed
  • Act as a liaison between the guardians and/or families of OP and/or the CBHS.
  • Assist in the coordination of the aftercare plan with each youth.
  • Maintain a comprehensive file of existing community resources.
  • Make referrals or secure additional resources from CBHS and link to care coordination and recovery support when needed.
  • Attend child and family team review sessions weekly.
  • Monitor youth’ self-administration of medication and document such accordingly.

Administrative Support:

  • Completes an initial treatment plan within 48 hours of admission
  • Document the results of all therapeutic sessions in CareLogic within 48 hours.
  • Conducts collaborative documentation with 90% or more of their active caseload.
  • Through collaborative documentation the clinician will check on child's and/or families' satisfaction with progress toward treatment goals every session
  • Complete PWEBS search and utilize practitioner guides
  • Begin an aftercare plan with each OP youth fourteen days before discharge.
  • Begin Discharge Summary for each OP youth within fourteen days of discharge.
  • Conduct Community outreach as directed when caseload expectations are not being met.
  • Complete reports related to OP youth no show/cancellation as assigned
  • Complete reports on statistical data for internal use and for external regulatory agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Standards:

  • Perform monthly chart audits of peers as assigned.
  • Attend bi-weekly supervisory sessions with supervisor or other director/manager.
  • Maintain annual training requirements.
  • Present proof of licensure renewal as appropriate.
  • Participate in staff training and educational programs to maintain annual requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requirements: Master’s degree in a behavioral health field. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in outpatient or residential
    services preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience must be in working with families and youth.
  • Mississippi professional license in mental health field is required (LPC, or LCSW).
