2nd Shift Packaging Machine Operator

Summary

Operates packaging machines and equipment to effectively meet production needs and then also cleans the packing area.

Essential Duties and responsibilities including the following, other duties may be assigned

• Controls product flow and seasoning application.
• Estimates product changeover times.
• Cleans machines, conveyors, walls and floors.
• Operates forklift as needed.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) and;
• Three to six months related experience and/or training or;
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correcpondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customer or employees of organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work at a fast pace for long periods of time.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Ability to create and maintain cooperation with co-workers.
• Knowledge of basic computer systems.
• Ability to perform basic mechanical duties.
• Hayssen experience a plus.
