About the Position


The Information Systems Specialist is responsible for end user technical support, system administration, and resource management. This position provides technical assistance for desktop, server, network cloud services and mobile device inquires, as well as remote troubleshooting help for the organization's six campuses nationwide. This position leads audio/visual services for major events and onsite meetings, issue resolution of complex IT system problems, collaborating with staff in accordance with the organization's core values: Teamwork, Compassionate Service, Integrity, Community, Excellence, and Innovation.

A typical day as an Information Systems Specialist may include:

  • Serving as first contact support for IT helpdesk tickets, including phone support, between the hours of 8:00a PT to 5:00 PT
  • Serve as technical point of contact for audio/visual needs (Extron, Polycom Conferencing, Open Broadcast Software, YouTube)
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving all tier 1 IT helpdesk tickets.
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving the majority of tier 2 IT helpdesk tickets.
  • Performing Root Cause Analysis on commonly reported issues
  • Managing onboarding and offboarding users across all necessary systems
  • Supporting internal data and voice networking systems
  • Installing, configuring, and supporting desktop and mobile device hardware, operating system(s) and applications
  • Maintaining inventory of hardware, software licensing, and warranty information.
  • Coordinating the requisition and distribution of end-user workstation hardware, mobile devices, network devices, and peripherals in accordance with departmental and organizational procedures.
  • Creating user-friendly technical support documents

EXPECTATIONS:

To be successful in this position:

  • Must Haves:
    • High school graduate, GED or equivalent. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred in an applicable or related field (Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science), or a combination of education/experience from comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
    • 2 or more years of system administration and client support in a multi-unit organization
    • Experience managing audio/visual equipment and software
    • Experience troubleshooting audio/visual issues for large-scale in-person and online streaming events
    • Microsoft Azure and Azure AD and Entra ID environments, Microsoft O365 administration, MS server administration, Virtualization (VMWARE, VCENTER, EXSi), CompTIA A , Network and Secruity
    • Audio/visual experience required
    • Willingness to travel (up to 20%)
  • Nice to Haves:
    • Experience with Networking, VoIP, OneLogin, Freshservice, Single Sign-On

Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

The base salary range above represents the low and high of the range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of total compensation package for employees.
