Full Job Description

Housekeeping Supervisor is to come in at 8am to prepare the boards and does not leave till the rooms are inspected for his/her staff.

Assign workers their duties and inspects work in accordance to prescribed IHG standards of cleanliness.

Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check- outs or discharges to prepare work assignments. To do a board of at least 5 Rooms.

Investigates complaints along with GM regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action.

Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment along with required IHG Training.

Weekly inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies to be ordered by the General Manager.

Evaluates records to forecast department personnel requirements along with FOM or GM.

Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation in accordance with IHG Standards.

Examines guestrooms daily to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment and makes recommendations to management.

Attends staff meetings to discuss company policies and patrons' complaints. Issues supplies and equipment to workers per IHG Standards.

Enforces IHG standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff. Advises manager, desk clerk, or admitting personnel of rooms ready for occupancy.

Cleanliness of all storage rooms are to be cleaned and organized as well as housekeeping carts.

Enforce uniform policy to employees.

· Other actions/duties as specified by the management.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Excellent people management skills
  • Prior experience in housekeeping, especially at hotels
  • Ability to manage up and across departments, advocating for the needs of your team while accounting for the constraints of the business as a whole
  • A well-developed sense for how best to support, encourage, and motivate large teams with diverse backgrounds and personalities
  • A level head for resolving interpersonal conflict within your team with fairness and transparency
  • Smart and informed decision making
  • A propensity for focusing on and optimizing one thing to the Nth degree (namely, Housekeeping)
  • Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, and bend
