Functions as an integral member of the trauma team. Responsibilities include participating in resident team meetings, making rounds in patient care areas, collaborating with Trauma Services leadership, surgical residents, trauma attendings, trauma Advance Practice Providers (APPs) and other clinicians to ensure that trauma patients receive coordinated quality care from the pre-hospital phase through rehabilitation. May also assist data retrieval and collection, data analysis, and presentation of data both internally and externally. Must be comfortable with interpreting the clinical care provided to trauma patients. Will act as a role model for trauma care through educational and clinical activities and coordinate performance improvement activities for the trauma program to maintain the American College of Surgeons Level 1 Accreditation verification.
Requirements:
Bachelors of Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing (BSN)
Five years of working experience in a Level 1-2 trauma center
Two years experience with direct trauma patient care in Level 1-2 trauma center ED or ICU
Current RN license.
Current ACLS and/or PALS certification
Current ENPC or TNCC certification
Must attend ATS Registry Course, STN TOPIC Course and AAAM AIS Coding Course with 12 months of hire
